What to expect at Astún
Astún is a compact Aragonese resort at 1,650 m in the Pyrenees, above the town of Jaca. It has 50 km of piste and 14 lifts, and its selling point is a small, focused ski school that punches above the size of the resort, several of Spain's national team members grew up on these slopes. Its sister resort Candanchú 3 km down the road shares a joint pass and stretches the total to over 100 km. Base facilities are modest and the village is really just apartment blocks, but the drive from Zaragoza is only 90 minutes and prices are among the lowest of any serious resort in Spain.
