What to expect at Glencoe Mountain

Glencoe Mountain, on Meall a'Bhuiridh above the A82 at Rannoch Moor, is Scotland's oldest ski centre, opened in 1956. It is a small operation, one chairlift and a chain of drag lifts, but the mountain itself is a serious 1,108 m peak with the Flypaper black run down the headwall, one of the steepest lift-served pistes anywhere in the UK. The setting, on the edge of Rannoch Moor with the Buachaille Etive Mor across the road, is arguably the most dramatic of any British ski centre. Glencoe village down the road has climbing pubs and a very good visitor centre for the surrounding national scenic area.
