Flims-Laax-Falera is one connected area but marketed under two names, Flims for the traditional village side, Laax for the freestyle brand. See the Laax entry for the mountain itself. Flims as a base is quieter, has an actual medieval village core with a Romanesque church and the Waldhaus hotel, a Belle Époque grand hotel restored in the 2010s, that suits families who don't want the freestyle party vibe of Laax.
