What to expect at Glenshee

Glenshee sits astride the A93 Cairnwell pass at 650 m in the eastern Cairngorms, and unusually for a British ski centre it is not built around a single mountain but spread over three glens with 22 lifts feeding 40 km of piste. That gives it the UK's biggest lift network and a huge variety of aspect and altitude, useful when only some of the runs are holding snow. Terrain skews to beginner and lower intermediate, with a strong ski school culture, but the Tiger run off the Cairnwell is a proper black on a good day. Two hours from Aberdeen or Perth, it draws day skiers rather than resort stays.
